Guardian Angel Namesake

Angels have worked to bring about God’s divine plan throughout all of salvation history. In the Old Testament, angels act as God’s ministers who carry out God’s orders, offer protection and who are sometimes given special mission.

It is implied in the Bible, that each person has a guardian angel, that each human life is surrounded by the watchful care and intercession of an angel.

Our guardian angel is our daily companion who, in addition to loving and serving God, serves our own personal human needs as well, guarding us from evil and guiding us to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Bishop McGrattan - For God cares and loves us so much that he sends his ministers to every human soul. St. Jerome said, “Great is the dignity of souls, for each one to have an angel deputed to guard it from its birth”

The feast of the Guardian Angels is October 2.
